My Family.

My papa, who is widely known as Don-don, works on an airline company here in the Philippines as a pilot. He’s really a kind-hearted, very receptive father but as a father he still knows how to use the rod in a proper way. He’s real name is Benjamin.

My mama stays home as a good, modest housewife, a teacher and mother of 2 home schooled kids, only my two siblings, since I'm already off to college. My mother is called Nancy and she can be pretty mean sometimes. Other people like her though, because of her frank manner and obviously outspoken way of dealing with people. Moreover, she could be quite a frantic woman, too. She’ll scream and jump around when she sees a tiny worm crawling in our back door. Otherwise, she’s a very nice mother.

Joyce Ann is 15. She’s a nice girl blessed with fair beauty and wonderful talent in music and sports. Most people assume that she’s an American plainly because of her complexion and freckles dotting her face. There’s hardly a Filipino who have freckles, at least, in my observations. We get along well together generally because of our close age. More about her (here).

Joanna Marie is my youngest sibling. She’s 10 now, I think. I observed her this past few days and based from those observations, I noticed that I see my old self in her. Not in appearance, but rather in our emotional ways. She’s a lot more stubborn than me, though.

My church folks.

The Archogs. I may have talked a lot about them here particularly because they are the only family that my mama wants to be going out with. They’re like a close relative to us, now. Bro. Joseph (or Jo, as I mostly call him here) is the head. Ms. Judy is his wife and they currently have two children, Charity (6) or Charie and Jonathan Joseph (Barely a year old. He's already a 1 year old!) or J.J – hoping for more. They are one of the families that came out of H.B.B.A.

The Aplaons. Former H.B.B.A members too. Bro. Ben and his wife, Louisa, is now living with their two other daughters, Benalee (Lee) and Beluna (Bel). The older children are all married now.

The Monteros. Former H.B.B.A. members. I can say that they are a fruit of the example the missionary brought here. Before, the children were so unruly and disruptive but, when the missionary taught everything from the Bible, they changed. God changed them. Bro. Edward is the head of this family. His wife is Nelia and they have 5 children. Sherah Mae, or Mai-Mai, is my sister, Joyce Anne’s best friend. Shane Mara, commonly called Mara, is one of Joanna’s friends. John Shieldrick, better called Jano, but I don’t know why. Sherraine Maika, whom we call Maika is the 4th child and Sheene Michaella, Maikee, is the youngest.

The Patenaudes. They are the American missionary who came here in the Philippines to make this their base. Their real mission field is in China but God probably called them here for a special mission. Pastor Robert “Bob” teaches the men more about the Bible. He and his wife, June Marie, currently live here with Liberty Grace, Abram Joseph, Bethany Joy, and Abigail Glory. Matthew, with his family, and Danielle Elizabeth, their oldest children, is now in America.

The Dufours. They arrived here as missionaries, who planned to help the Patenaudes, a couple of years ago, I think. Bro. Matthew (the father and husband), Ms. Aubrey (the mother and wife), Ruthann Grace (the firstborn), Isaiah Matthew (the second born) – and a forthcoming twins!

The Carlyles. They are a Filipino-American family who goes back and forth here and in America. They built the G.B.A church. Bro. Robert “Bob”, his wife, Beth, with their three children, Bethany Gail, Tammy Lynn, and Ben Joseph used to be an old family friend of ours.

The Domingos. An old H.B.B.A. member. They are also one of the families who followed us to G.B.A. They are also one of our family friends. Bro. Elmer is the husband, and he and his wife, Janet, have 3 children; J.I. stands for John Isaac, J.P. stands for John Paul, and D.Y., the only girl, stands for Danica May(e).

Marilou Felipe - A girl who came out of her mountainous birthplace to live in her aunt's house. She studies college now and could barely attend church.

My “old friends” from H.B.B.A.

Kristine Anne Friolo (K.A). – My leader. A childhood friend.
Kristine Tarlit (K.T.) – K.A.’s cousin
Jacqueline Nanlong (J.N.) – My old best friend. A childhood friend.
Joanne Baccay (J.B.) – The outgoing girl.
Junelle Angeles (J.A.) – An old buddy.
Mark David Ocampo – A childhood friend. A good chum.

.....and so many people coming in and out of my life, that I can't just write them here....
